CloudSigma is a pure-cloud infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) provider that’s enabling the digital industrial economy through its highly-available, flexible, enterprise-class hybrid cloud servers and cloud hosting solutions in Europe, the U.S., Asia and Australia. CloudSigma is the most customizable cloud provider on the market, giving customers full control over their cloud and eliminating restrictions on how users deploy their computing resources.

The cloud platform is designed to provide an environment with the same degrees of freedom that private in-house environments end-users might have been able to offer. All functionalities are available via an API or the end-user WebApp. Users are able to provision processing, storage, networks and other fundamental computing resources in an unbundled way meaning CPU, RAM, storage and bandwidth can be purchased and combined independently to allow the best combination of cloud resources without the limitation of fixed sizes. So any combination of CPU and RAM can be achieved along with multiple drives mounted to a server and multiple networking interfaces.

EODC operates an EO data centre, providing collaborative IT infrastructure for archiving, processing, and distributing EO data. Our focus ranges from scientific research to operational services in the areas of water resources and land monitoring, agricultural applications, and humanitarian aid and civil security.

The EODC framework offers i) management and organization of collaborative software development processes for establishing fully automatic end-to-end EO data processing chains, ii) competence in processing large volumes of EO data, iii) up-to-date technical infrastructure hosted at some of Europe’s most powerful computer processing environments for running data-intensive geoscientific models, and iv) tailor-made, user-friendly solutions to exploit the added-value of satellite-derived information for the civil society.

The EODC infrastructure components include i) the 15 PB sized EO Storage hosting a long-term archive for selected Sentinel and other EO data products as well as a separate private storage for customers, ii) the EODC Cloud, an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) solution realised with OpenStack utilizing more than of 3,000 virtual CPU's with 14 TB RAM, with separate 122 TB storage for Virtual Machine (VM) volumes, iii) an external backup facility with a storage capacity of 3 PB , iv) access to the Vienna Scientific Cluster 3 (VSC-3) with its 32,000 cores and 128 TB RAM, which is accessible through the EODC High Performance Computing (HPC) Service. EO Storage is connected to both the EODC Cloud and the VSC.
Within the WEkEO DIAS, EODC provides processing resources as well as access to its Sentinel archive.

The PROBA-V Mission Exploitation Platform was one of the first fully operational EO platforms and complements the PROBA-V user segment with on demand processing services, APIs for platform developers and analytical tools. A cloud environment allowing direct access to a global archive of different unique EO datasets (SPOT-VEGETATION, PROBA-V and Copernicus Global Land Service), complemented with a selected archive of Sentinel 1, 2 and 3 data enables a wide range of applications to be developed and served. Furthermore, OGC services such as WMS/WMTS and OpenSearch are readily available for access. This whole range of capabilities, datasets and viewing possibilities are also available under the Terrascope branding, which is the Belgian national Collaborative Ground Segment.
